Predicting the Outcome of Every Seattle Seahawks Game In 2014

As defending Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks are going to have a target on their backs all season long. Things aren't going to be as easy now that they're the defending champs, especially since they have the sixth hardest schedule in the league. On the road to a repeat, here's how the Seahawks will likely fair this season.

WIN 30-20 (1-0)

With the home crowd behind them for the first game since they won the Super Bowl, the Seahawks have every reason to get up for this game. While the Green Bay Packers have plenty of motivation to avenge their loss at the hands of Seattle and the replacement referees, the Seahawks will get the edge.

Week 2: @ San Diego Chargers

WIN 38-30 (2-0)

This figures to be a somewhat high-scoring affair, as the San Diego Chargers' pass offense is in the top half of the league and the Seahawks will need to score to keep up. They showed last season they can win defensive or offensive battles, and they will show that by squeaking out this one.

LOSS 31-24 (2-1)

After the Seahawks put a spanking on the AFC champion Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl, they have plenty of motivation to steal a road win from Seattle. Peyton Manning will be more poised and focused, and they'll come out of Seattle victorious.

WIN 34-17 (3-1)

While Washington is a tough place to play, the Washington Redskins simply don't have enough offensive firepower to put up enough points against a stout Seahawks defense. They may stay close for a while, but it's likely the Seahawks pull away late.

Week 6: vs. Dallas Cowboys

WIN 28-20 (4-1)

The Dallas Cowboys play well early on in the season traditionally, but running into this Seattle defense may throw them off their stride. This actually figures to be relatively low scoring, and the team with the last possession may very well pull out the win.

Week 7: @ St. Louis Rams

LOSS 21-13 (4-2)

Even though they're likely the worst team in the division, the St. Louis Rams always play the NFC West tough. Playing at home in a marquee matchup could mean the difference in this game as the upstart Rams pull off the upset.

Week 8: @ Carolina Panthers

WIN 27-17 (5-2)

Following a tough road loss in St. Louis, the Seahawks will regain momentum by earning a solid road win in Carolina. Both teams got a bye in the playoffs last year, and this will be an interesting matchup. It will most likely be low scoring and that favors Russell Wilson who has shown more poise under pressure.

Week 9: vs. Oakland Raiders

WIN 41-13 (6-2)

This game has blowout written all over it. The Oakland Raiders somehow managed to get worse this offseason and aren't likely to have much momentum at this point in the season. Playing in front of their home crowd, the Seahawks should dominate this inferior competition.

WIN 34-28 (OT) (7-2)

After disappointing last season, the New York Giants should be much improved this year. Even playing in Seattle, they will give the Seahawks a run for their money. As a better possession team though, the edge goes to the Seahawks in overtime.

WIN 28-17 (8-2)

Arrowhead Stadium is one of the toughest places in the league to play, but the Seahawks are battle tested. While the game should be relatively tight, Seattle will capitalize on a few mistakes by the Kansas City Chiefs, and head home with a victory.

Week 12: vs. Arizona Cardinals

Week 12: vs. Arizona Cardinals

WIN 30-27 (9-2)

The Arizona Cardinals were one of the most surprising teams in the league last season, finishing at 10-6. As long as their core stays healthy, they're the real deal and will really compete in Seattle. While it will be even, the 12th man might give the Seahawks a big enough boost to win it.

LOSS 27-20 (9-3)

This rivalry game just keeps getting more and more intense, and this game will do nothing to cool that off. With last year's NFC Championship Game in the backs of their minds, the San Francisco 49ers will play with enough grit to pull out a tightly contested game.

Week 14: @ Philadelphia Eagles

LOSS 34-24 (9-4)

After losing on the road to the 49ers, the Seahawks should have some motivation to end their struggles. However, the quick turnaround and cross country trip won't do them any good against a Philadelphia Eagles team playing at home and in the middle of a division race.

WIN 30-14 (10-4)

With a chance to avenge a loss from just two weeks prior, the Seahawks will press all the right buttons in this one. Playing in front of their home crowd with a division title possibly hanging in the balance, the Seahawks will control play throughout and win a pretty one-sided game.

LOSS 24-21 (10-5)

In a fierce divisional game, home field will be the difference in this one. This will be a pretty big letdown for Seattle after dismantling the 49ers the week before, but they will still stay in the thick of the playoff hunt following their third loss in four games.

Week 17: vs. St. Louis Rams

WIN 34-10 (11-5)

With a playoff spot on the line, the Seahawks pick apart the St. Louis Rams in front of their home fans in order to lock down a spot in the postseason. With 11 wins, but losing the divisional tiebreaker to the 49ers, the Seahawks head into the playoffs as a No. 5 seed playing on Wild Card Weekend.
