The Arizona Cardinals were once in the NFC East division, and last season they wish they still resided there as it would have resulted in a playoff appearance. Instead the Cardinals found themselves in the toughest division in football with the honor of having the best record of teams not making the playoffs. Arizona will hope to get over that hump in 2014 with a tough schedule in front of them. Here are their five biggest games this year.

The game against the Giants can be a possible trap game, but it could also be a big-time game in the grand scheme of things. Arizona will be playing Week 1 late Monday night and then traveling cross-country on a short week for an early Week 2 game. With the 49ers awaiting in Week 3 before an early bye week, if Arizona is not careful, they could be looking at an early hole that could be difficult to recover from.

4. Week 8 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

This has the potential of being a mid-season matchup of two high-scoring teams. Last season, the Eagles edged the Cardinals by a field goal. This game could also go a long way in deciding playoff positioning in the NFC.

3. Week 5 at Denver Broncos

Bruce Arians and company will be traveling to the Mile High City to take on the Super Bowl runner-ups this past season. The Cardinals' defense will certainly be tested in this game. A possible advantage for the Cards is that the game will be played coming off of a bye week for them. It will be a chance for the Cardinals to make an early statement.

2. Week 17 at San Francisco 49ers

For the Cardinals, five of their games will be against teams that played in the conference championships last season which speaks to their hard road to potential playoff aspirations. The NFC West will certainly be a physical division to compete in this season. The Cardinals will end the year with three straight division games ending in San Francisco. Reaching the playoffs will be in their control this season.

Over the last two seasons, the Seattle Seahawks have lost a total of one game at home. That was last season to the Cardinals. The place will be rocking as the defending champs will be looking for some payback. The Cardinals will need to step up once again and answer the challenge.
