Could you imagine what would happen if the New York Jets selected QB Johnny Manziel in the 2014 NFL Draft? Or what if they blow their first-round draft pick on a wide receiver considering just how deep this draft is at the position?

Take a look at five worst-case scenarios for the New York Jets' first-round draft pick.

The Jets have more defensive needs going into the draft, so it would be a waste to draft WR Kelvin Benjamin to the team. The Jets could easily address adding more depth to their receiving corps via the later rounds of the draft.

With adding RB Chris Johnson to the mix, it would be such a huge waste to draft a running back considering the Jets are already stacked at the position. With Johnson, Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell on the team, wasting a first-round pick on someone like RB Carlos Hyde would be one of the worst decisions ever made!

3. WR Marqise Lee

There is no denying the incredible skills WR Marqise Lee possesses, and there is no doubt he will be successful no matter where he ends up. But the Jets need to use their first-round draft pick on a cornerback above anything else. It would be a waste to draft a wide receiver when the Jets can utilize their other draft picks, 12 in total, to address the position in the later rounds.

2. RB De'Anthony Thomas

The Jets have for the most part already addressed their running back issue by acquiring RB Chris Johnson. CJ2K will no doubt be one of the main rushers on the team with others getting a share of the carries. It would be a waste to use their first-round draft pick on someone like RB De'Anthony Thomas since there is no need to add another player at this position.

1. QB Johnny Manziel

The Jets have acquired QB Michael Vick to help in the development of QB Geno Smith. Finally parting ways with players like Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, the Jets want to have as little drama as possible when it comes to the quarterback position. Wasting their first-round draft pick on a quarterback would be absolutely horrendous -- especially if it's Johnny Manziel. The Jets don't want a sequel to the Tebow circus.
