5 Worst-Case Scenarios For The Tennessee Titans' First-Round Draft Pick

The Tennessee Titans are in need of some offensive firepower to help their struggling young QB, especially after cutting ties with RB Chris Johnson. Though they could definitely stand to shore up some non-skill positions, they can secure some top-level talent at 11th overall heading into Ken Wisenhunt's first season as head coach. What are the worst-case scenarios?

Lewan has the upside to become one of the better tackles in this draft, though this isn't what the Titans should be looking for in the first round. They need to surround their QB with playmakers to help take the burden off his shoulders.

4. Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA

Barr has been climbing up draft boards recently, though he still is a bit under-prepared for the NFL. He could definitely use some time alongside a veteran leader at the position to better hone his technique. Titans can't afford to give him this time.

3. Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU

Beckham has great speed and is very adept at running routes, but he lacks the size that the Titans desperately need at the position. Beckham would be a step in the right direction, though I'm not sure he could have a big enough impact on the team to warrant this high of a pick.

2. Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State

Dennard is widely accepted as the most NFL-ready CB in this draft and has the size and skills to follow through on that praise. However, one great CB cannot give the Titans the turnaround that they are looking for. With a very deep draft, the team could easily add another CB later in this draft.

1. Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M

Manziel is easily the most polarizing player in this draft and with the Titans in need of a new QB, he is certainly an intriguing thought. Though with a new coaching staff and a team on the brink of playoff contention, the Johnny football circus is something the Titans do not need to bring in, especially with plenty of other QBs available in the later rounds.
