The Minnesota Vikings will be one of the teams to watch during Thursday night’s first round, since there are multiple players they could select and a trade up or down is possible.
Here are five recent draft-related rumors attached to the Vikings, with the first round of the draft now just over 72 hours away.
ESPN’s Todd McShay thinks Bortles as the best quarterback in this year’s draft, and suggests the Vikings should take the Central Florida product if he falls to eighth overall.
There is a lot of buzz surrounding the possibility the Vikings won’t take a quarterback at No. 8 overall. With other needs and no sure-fire top signal caller in this year’s class, we may see the Vikings wait until the second round to secure their quarterback of the future.
Citing offensive coordinator Norv Turner’s history using two backs effectively, general manager Rick Spielman has indicated he’d like to draft a running back to help ease Adrian Peterson’s workload. Finding someone in the late rounds looks like a priority.
In his mock draft over the weekend, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press has the Vikings taking Alabama linebacker C.J. Mosley eighth overall.
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King suggests the Vikings want a “front-seven disruptor” at No. 8 overall, and he specifically mentioned Pittsburgh defensive tackle Aaron Donald as an option.
