The Houston Texans will be riding a 14-game losing streak when the 2014 season kicks off. They have the No. 1 pick in the draft, but there are still no locks on who they will select. Depending on the pick, it could drastically change the direction of the franchise as it heads into a new season. Houston does have a favorable schedule in 2014, and they will try to rebound under new head coach Bill O'Brien. Here is how 2014 could look for Houston.

The Texans will take the field at home on the opening weekend. Might Johnny Manziel and Arian Foster be sharing the same backfield against the Redskins at that time? Houston is one team that is not quite set at the quarterback position. Against the new-look Redskins, they may be over-matched in the opener.

Result: Lose 28-17

Possibly with their losing streak still active, the Texans will travel to the bay area to take on the Raiders and an old friend in Matt Schaub. The Raiders own one of the most difficult schedules in 2014, and while this game may not look attractive on paper, the Schaub element will be intriguing to watch. Might the Texans finally snap the streak against their former quarterback?

Result: Win 24-7

Week 3: At New York Giants

This will be a challenging game for Houston as they will go from west coast to east coast on back-to-back weeks. They could have a difficult time as well containing Victor Cruz on tired legs.

Result: Lose 21-14

If things do not work out in the first three weeks, the Texans may have an opportunity for a victory in Week 4 at home against the Bills. This could also be a turning point within the season for Houston and O'Brien. After a few weeks under his system, the Texans could turn the corner toward a positive direction.

Result: Win 31-20

The battle of Texas could see a ton of points scored in this matchup. The Texans will likely be up for this one as they will try to make a statement against big brother for state bragging rights.

Result: Win 34-30

Coming off of the in-state rivalry game, the Texans will have a short week to prepare for Andrew Luck and the Colts. The last time Indy visited Houston, the Texans dominated the first half before the scary moment involving former head coach Gary Kubiak. The Colts came from behind to beat the shell-shocked Texans. This year, Luck again may be to much for Houston.

Result: Lose 24-17

After playing on a Thursday, Houston will have extra time to prepare for their lone Monday night game of the season at Pittsburgh. The defense will likely be in for a physical battle in the Steel City. In a potentially low-scoring game, the Texans may be able to "steal" one on the road.

Result: Win 17-13

Week 8: At Tennessee

J.J. Watt may have a reason to smile knowing that Tennessee no longer has Chris Johnson at running back. An improved Texans team should be able to take care of business in a winnable road game within the division.

Result: Win 23-12

Nick Foles is a Texas kid who will return home and look to play well in Week 9. In their final game against the NFC and final game against the state of Pennsylvania, the Texans could be over-matched in this one. When right, the Eagles' offense is a challenge to keep up with.

Result: Lose 38-17

After a late bye week, the Texans will be back at it in Cleveland. Arian Foster and company will look to get off and running against the Browns and take home a victory.

Result: Win 27-14

This could be a very intriguing game to watch as the season heads toward the home stretch. The Bengals are a solid team, but they have not played well in Houston recently. The Texans' lone two playoff wins have both come at home against the Bengals. How will a regular season meeting turn out between these two teams?

Result: Win 23-14

If the Texans are able to turn things around in 2014, they should develop into the second best team within the AFC South. To continue to turn the corner and erase all memories of the dreadful 2013 year they need to win games like this at home.

Result: Win 33-15

Week 14: At Jacksonville

If Houston is able to play well and is in the hunt for a possible playoff spot, this is where the schedule could be beneficial. A late bye and getting to face the Jaguars twice in the final four games could be huge. The Texans must take care of business heading into the home stretch.

Result: Win 27-10

Again, the Colts could be the class of the division this season. In 2014, they may be a step or two ahead of the Texans. This could be a week where Indy is wrapping up a division championship.

Result: Lose 38-21

Week 16: vs. Baltimore

This late-season meeting could be huge within the AFC playoff picture at season's end. Over the last few years, the Texans have had some heart-breaking losses to the Ravens. Baltimore's new offensive coordinator is also Gary Kubiak who will be returning to Houston as a visitor. It will be a physical game and emotional game, and it could easily be a toss-up in the end.

Result: Lose 27-17

Week 17: vs. Jacksonville

Week 17: vs. Jacksonville

The Texans will start and end the year at home. Many of their challenging games this year are at home, but this doesn't figure to be one of them. It could be a game where a win could be a Wild Card spot. The Texans still have a solid core, and this year will be about trying to get back to playoff aspirations and a championship. If they play to their abilities, Houston could see a 10-win season and a chance at the postseason.

Result: Win 28-10
