Who doesn’t love a feel good story on draft day? This year’s story is brought to you by Eric Ebron, tight end out of North Carolina. Thursday was already going to be a special day for the TE, but he decided to up the ante by proposing to his girlfriend at the Empire State Building:

North Carolina is a school that’s not necessarily known for it’s football program. Over the years its legendary basketball program has stolen most of the school’s headlines. But players like Ebron prove that UNC football is most definitely on the rise.
Over the last seven seasons, UNC has won at least seven games each year and made five bowl appearances. That span includes also includes two bowl wins and three eight-win seasons.
Now it’s just a matter of if the program can get to that next tier of CFB. Making and winning bowl games is great, but the Tar Heels have been stuck in the same mid-to-lower tier bowls. The Meineke Car Care Bowl and Music City Bowls of the world are great, but let’s be honest — fans want more. However, it’s not out of the question for UNC to take that next step as a program if it keeps getting players like Eric Ebron.
