As a four-year starter for one of the best defenses in all of college football, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is one of the most intriguing players in this year’s draft. Besides having one of the coolest names in the draft, Clinton-Dix has been seen as the best safety in this draft class. Charles Woodson left in free agency after the 2012 season and that left a gaping void at the safety position. After having one of the worst secondaries in the NFL last year, the Green Bay Packers made it their goal to draft an impact player with their first-round pick. Clinton-Dix is just that.

With great vision and excellent ball skills, Clinton-Dix has all the tools to be a top-tier center fielder in the NFL. Captaining one of the best defenses in college football over the past few years has helped Clinton-Dix’s development. While he is thin at 205 pounds, Clinton-Dix is 6-foot-1 and if he puts on the necessary weight, Clinton-Dix will be an intimidating presence in the defensive backfield.

Even in his first year at Alabama, Clinton-Dix shared time with Mark Barron and Robert Lester at safety. With 4.45 40-yard speed, Clinton-Dix is fast enough to around the field and make plays. Clinton-Dix is an instinctive safety who will be a contributor right away on Green Bay’s defense. After adding Julius Peppers to pair with Clay Matthews and Mike Neal, the Packers have a defensive line that can get after the quarterback. Clinton-Dix is in position to create a ton of takeaways for the Packers. Clinton-Dix will be an immediate upgrade over the likes of M.D. Jennings and Morgan Burnett.
