It was an interesting draft for the New Orleans Saints. Drew Brees is getting up there in age, which means they will need to make a push for the Super Bowl over the next couple of years. The Saints got what they wanted in this draft with players who can play right away. Here are grades for the New Orleans Saints' draft picks.

1st Round - Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State

When they moved up for the 20th pick, I knew they were going to draft Brandin Cooks. Cooks allows them to get faster on offense. We don't know how Colston will do next season. The combination of Cooks and Jimmy Graham will be fun to watch, and I like the move to get him. Grade B

2nd Round - Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska

Stanley Jean-Baptiste is a big corner in a league trending toward picking bigger corners. He is 6-foot-3 and has skills to be a longtime starter in this league. This was a nice need pick as well. Grade: B+

4th Round - Khairi Fortt, OLB, California

Khairi Fortt is a good athlete who can drop into coverage and play in the box. He also possesses toughness. I like that he's a two-way player. Grade: B

5th Round - Vinnie Sunseri, SS, Alabama

Vinnie Sunseri is a tough defender suited to be in the box. I'm not sure if he's a good pass defender, but he will make enough impact in the box that this will turn out to be a fine pick. Grade: B-

5th Round- Ronald Powell, OLB, Florida

5th Round- Ronald Powell, OLB, Florida

Ronald Powell is a rare athlete with the ability to rush the passer off the edge. He's had tough times dealing with injuries as he tore his ACL twice, but I like this gamble by the Saints. Considering the upside, getting a paler like Powell in the fifth round is a good gamble. Grade: B+

6th Round - Tavon Rooks, OT, Kansas State

Tavon Rooks spent two years at right tackle for KSU after transferring from a Junior college. He is a smooth athlete and has good mobility to develop as a possible starter in this league. Grade: B
