After losing Alterraun Verner and Chris Johnson, this draft was an extremely important one for the Titans. There were some questionable picks in the early rounds, but they did a good job in the third day of the draft. Here are grades for the Titans' draft picks.

1st round: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

1st round: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan

After signing Michael Oher in the offseason and with Michael Roos on the roster, the Titans had two solid tackles. I thought they needed a legitimate cornerback after losing Verner. I like Lewan as a player, but they had other needs and better options in the first round.

Grade: C

2nd Round: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington

They got a replacement for Chris Johnson. I like Bishop Sankey. He is an exceptional receiver and is versatile, but I would have preferred Carlos Hyde, and a back in the second round is too high.

Grade: C+

4th Round: Daquan Jones, DT, Penn State

Daquan Jones is a rare athlete for his size. He will be a rotation player right away and could be a longtime starter. Consistency is his biggest problem, but he has the tools to be a special pro.

Grade: B+

4th Round: Marqueston Huff, FS, Wyoming

Huff is a physical and versatile defensive back who plays with a tremendous amount of effort, but he lacks skills to be a regular starter in the NFL. He will start his career as a part of the Titans' special teams.

Grade: C

5th Round: Avery Williamson, ILB, Kentucky

Avery Williamson is a tough, physical linebacker, but he lacks mobility and fluidity in space. He's a hard hitter who can can be an enforcer at the defensive end.

Grade: C+

6th Round: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

6th Round: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU

Getting a player like Zach Mettenberger in the sixth round is a steal. He has NFL starter qualities with good accuracy and a big arm. He tore his ACL last year, but when he's healed, he can compete for the starting QB role in Tennessee.
