NFL Rumors: Five Teams That Should Show Interest in WR Andre Johnson

Houston Texans WR Andre Johnson skipped last week’s voluntary workouts, and then added fuel to the fire by speculating about his future with the team earlier this week. Johnson will turn 33 before this season starts, and he is slated to make over 21 million dollars in 2015 and 2016 combined, so both sides may benefit from a trade.

If he's made available, or tries to force his way out, here are 5 teams that should have interest in Johnson.

Johnson was born in Miami and went to the “U”, so he may want to finish his career with the Dolphins. They did draft two wide receivers last week, but Miami may still have room for, and interest in adding, a veteran to take defensive attention away from Mike Wallace.

The Chargers have Keenan Allen and a bunch of question marks at wide receiver right now. A proven veteran like Johnson would fit well as a target for Philip Rivers, to go along with a deep group of running backs, and San Diego would have one of the best offenses in the league.

3. St. Louis Rams

The Rams are committed to Sam Bradford as their starting quarterback, at least for this season. Adding Johnson to an unproven group of receivers would help the former No. 1 overall pick succeed.

2. Cleveland Browns

Former Texans’ offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan holds the same post in Cleveland now, and with Josh Gordon facing a suspension the Browns need a wide receiver.

Carolina lost multiple wide receivers in free agency, and only added one (Kelvin Benjamin) in the draft. The Panthers may have a running back (Jonathan Stewart?) that would interest the Texans in a trade, and working with Cam Newton would surely interest Johnson.
