With the NFL Draft now completed, the Denver Broncos begin their quest to return to the Super Bowl and hoist the Lombardi Trophy. However, I believe that there are still some moves the Broncos should consider before entering training camp in August that could go a long way for the franchise.

Here are the five moves I believe they should act on.

5. Release Joel Dreessen

The Broncos have a lot going on with their star tight end in Julius Thomas. With his emergence and Virgil Green as his potential backup, it may not be long before Dreessen finds another team especially since he did not have a good 2013 season.

4. Find A Kick/Punt Returner

With Trindon Holliday and Eric Decker both going to the big apple, the Broncos lose their two solid returners over the past few years. While Holliday had ball handling issues and Decker played mostly on offense, the team is losing a position that could change the momentum of a game. Omar Bolden could be the player who takes on that role, but it will be interesting to see when training camp begins who emerges as the returner on the roster.

3. Sign A Veteran Running Back

The Broncos surprised some by not drafting a running back in the draft. This could be a strong sign that Montee Ball will be the starting running back in training camp. But I seriously believe that the Broncos should look into signing a veteran backup to at least help Ball transition into the starting role. Plus, if Ball were to go down due to injury the veteran could help out in the long run.

2. Extend Julius Thomas' Contract

Julius Thomas was an exciting surprise in 2013, as he caught 12 of Manning's 55 touchdowns. His playmaking abilities as a tight end makes him a solid player in the offense. Before the Broncos enter the 2015 offseason, they should seriously consider extending the contract of the star tight end. Better to get it taken care of now rather than later. If they can do it before the 2014 season, it would remove some pressure as the season goes along.

Another contract the Broncos should look into before training camp is the one of the star wide out's and Peyton Manning's bigger targets in the passing game. Demaryius Thomas has come a long way since being drafted in the first round of the 2010 draft. With as much promise as he can bring the franchise, it would be wise for the Broncos to figure out his contract situation now while they have a little bit of money.
