Between wedding planning and being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals last week during the 2014 NFL Draft, it’s been a busy last couple of weeks for former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and his soon-to-be wife Katherine Webb. Obviously, this popular couple has established quite the fan base over the last couple of years ever since Webb was spotted in the stands during the 2013 National Championship game, but the lovely couple just gave us another reason to like them even more.

McCarron and Webb recently asked five-year-old cancer survivor Starla Chapman to be the flower girl at their wedding–which is simply awesome to hear. Chapman was diagnosed with leukemia back in 2011 and first met McCarron when the quarterback was visiting the University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital on Christmas Eve.

Since then, Chapman has been a big part of McCarron’s life as he even wore a yellow wristband (a gift from Chapman) in her honor during the National Championship game in 2012 and it’s awesome to hear the impact they’ve made on each other’s lives.

There’s been plenty of hype surrounding the big wedding between McCarron and Webb as they’ve arguably been the most popular couple in college football over the last couple of years and they deserve all of the credit in the world for pulling off such a kind gesture. It’s always an amazing feeling to hear about these feel-good stories in professional sports and it’s safe to say we can’t wait to see the adorable photos of Starla on AJ and Katherine’s big day.
