The Houston Texans selected arguably the best player on the board to start the 2014 NFL Draft when they selected Jadeveon Clowney first overall. The Texans will try to become the third straight team to go from having the first overall pick in the draft to the playoffs in the same season. They still has a solid core of players and were viewed as Super Bowl contenders not to long ago. With the draft over, here are five moves the team must now make.

5. Address The Tight End Position

The Texans are a team that uses the tight end position a great deal. With Owen Daniels now gone, they can choose to go with the duo of Garrett Graham and newly drafted C.J. Fiedorowicz, or add through free agency. Jermichael Finley is the best tight end currently available. While he is coming off a major injury, he could still provide a big red zone target and also be used as a decoy for Arian Foster and Andre Johnson.

4. Find A Quality Backup For Arian Foster

Arian Foster was once a top-three back. His 2013 season was cut short due to injury. With the additional time off, Foster could bounce back to his old self this year. However, Houston should still consider adding a quality backup just in case. Ben Tate is now gone, but Alfred Blue was added through the draft and can be molded into the system. Dennis Johnson is currently the no. 2, and Michael Bush is also available.

3. Keep Andre Johnson Happy

During the struggles of last year, Andre Johnson voiced some concerns about his future with the team. Unfortunately for Texan fans, those concerns of Johnson are still valid. One of the original Texans could be looking for a way out, but Houston should do everything they can in order to keep him in town and happy.

2. Create As Many Packages For Jadeveon Clowney And J.J Watt As Possible

Houston already had J.J. Watt on their d-line, and now they have Jadeveon Clowney on the opposite side. The duo has the makings to become a force for oppositions to contend with. They are capable of dialing up havoc for quarterbacks, and bringing the Houston defense back to being an imposing unit. The Texans should keep them on the field together as much as possible. It will be Clown-Wattage for teams to deal with.

Houston still has a major question to answer on offense, and that happens to also be at the most important position on the field. The starting quarterback spot is still filled by TBD. That will not win Houston very many games. They did bring in Ryan Fitzpatrick and also drafted Tom Savage. Will either of them become the long-term solution? Case Keenum is also in the mix, but the Texans will need to make a choice and run with it from the start.
