Peyton Manning completed the most statistically impressive regular season by a quarterback when he threw for 55 touchdowns and 5,477 passing yards in 2013. Manning won his NFL-record fifth MVP award as well. No player in NFL history has won more than three. Despite losing a couple of key starters from the Denver Broncos' 2013 offensive unit, here are five reasons why Manning can realistically win his sixth MVP award.

The Denver Broncos had a dominant regular season that saw them finish with an NFL-best 13-3 record. In the AFC Championship Game, the Broncos had their way with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, defeating them 26-16, while outgaining New England by nearly 200 total yards. The Broncos had the most impressive offseason of any NFL team, signing elite players such as DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib. Denver remains the team to beat in the AFC.

Remember how the Broncos used motivation from their 2012 divisional playoff loss? The loss fueled them to an excellent 2013 season that saw them finish as Super Bowl runner-ups. Expect the team to do the same for the 2014 season. After losing to the Seattle Seahawks, 43-8, in Super Bowl XLVIII, Peyton Manning and his supporting cast will have every reason to play with effectiveness throughout the 2014 regular season.

Demaryius Thomas has already established himself as one of the top receivers in the NFL. But with the departure of former running mate Eric Decker, Thomas will be the beneficiary of even more targets thrown his way by Manning. Thomas had 1,430 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns in 2013. Those marks ranked him fourth and second in each category. Expect Thomas to boost his receiving touchdowns total in 2014, which will only benefit Manning.

Even with the free agent departure of Eric Decker, Peyton Manning still has Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas and Wes Welker to throw to. The Broncos even re-signed receiver Andre Caldwell, and signed former Pittsburgh Steeler Emmanuel Sanders to replace Decker. The Broncos still have the best receiving core in the NFL. Manning may not break the passing touchdown record for a second-straight season, but he'll finish with around 45 touchdowns.

As much as people criticize Manning for his shortcomings in big games, you can't deny one fact -- Peyton is the most consistent quarterback in NFL history. Manning won his NFL-record fifth MVP award at the age of 37. He is on his way to breaking the all-time passing marks for touchdowns, passes completed and yards. What reason is there to believe that Peyton will slow down in 2014 when he had the finest season of his career in 2013?
