As organized team activities are set to begin across the NFL, the rumor mill is also heating up. The Chicago Bears have plenty of rumors and questions surrounding their team as well, so here is the list of the five biggest rumors heading into OTAs.

Although Bears coach Marc Trestman says the backup job is Jordan Palmer's to lose, most Bears fans are hoping Fales can leap frog Palmer for the right to carry Jay Cutler's clipboard. Given Cutler's tendency to get hurt throughout the season, a quality backup is a must for the Bears. After Josh McCown left for Tampa Bay this offseason, the Bears were left hoping that Fales or Palmer can recreate what McCown pulled off last season.

After becoming a Heisman trophy finalist as a QB at Northern Illinois, the Bears have asked Lynch to transition to RB. He did rack up 4,304 rushing yards and 47 TDs while at NIU, so he is no stranger to carrying the ball. If Lynch wants to make the team he will also need to contribute on special teams. After getting only one offer to play QB in college, Lynch would go on to finish third in the Heisman vote last year so I wouldn't bet against him.

A fourth-round draft pick, Carey will look to win the right to back up Matt Forte this season. His competition will come from second-year man Michael Ford. Ford was No. 3 last season and has not had a regular season snap yet. Most expect Carey to land the job by the end of the summer, though Marc Trestman still will not let slip as to which player he is leaning towards right now.

After finishing 2013 with one of the worst defenses in team history, the Bears drafted Ego Ferguson and Will Sutton to bolster their defensive line. During rookie mini-camp, defensive coordinator Mel Tucker revealed that the team would change their defensive schemes along the front seven. While they still plan to run a 4-3 front, Tucker plans to use principles of a 3-4 defense at times, creating a sort of hybrid front.

After last season's disappointing showing, the Bears drafted Brock Vereen in the fourth round this year to add depth to the safety position. The team also signed Ryan Mundy, M.D. Jennings and Danny McCray via free agency. With FS Chris Conte recovering from shoulder surgery, the Bears have yet to announce any starters, though they have stated there will be plenty of competition.
