The Saints' Hall of Fame Selection Committee has made its final decision on the class of 2014. QB Aaron Brooks and kicker John Carney will be inducted sometime during the upcoming season. Brooks was not the best QB, but he did lead the team to its first ever playoff win in 2000. Carney holds the franchise record for making 82.8 percent of his field goal attempts. He is one of seven players in NFL history to score over 2,000 career points.

Apparently the Saints held a vote, and the fans have selected Jairus Byrd as the favorite to lead New Orleans in interceptions in 2014. The team made a serious splash in free agency after landing the ball-hawk free safety. With the amount of pressure the defense puts on opposing quarterbacks, mistakes are likely. Byrd may be flocking to the ball quite often this year to come up with the big play.

The Saints and the newly acquired Champ Bailey have come to a decision and it looks like he will be wearing No. 27 this upcoming season. The 12-time Pro-Bowl corner has worn No. 24 throughout his career, but that number belongs to fellow defensive back Corey White.

The Saints' first-round draft pick Brandin Cooks said in an interview that he expects to be a big part of that high-powered offense when the season kicks off and that he knows he will make an immediate contribution. Cooks may be the most versatile athlete the Saints have had since Reggie Bush. A big career in the Big Easy is very likely.

After the departure of Brian de la Puente and failing to address the need in the draft, the Saints are in a desperate search for their starting center. Rumors are floating around that offensive guard Tim Lelito is the favorite to start the season at the position. Lelito started at guard in two games last season, but he does also have experience in the middle. He even practiced at center for a majority of the time in 2013.
