After a dismal performance over the last few seasons, the only way to go for the Jacksonville Jaguars is up. With the addition of a potential franchise quarterback in No. 3 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft Blake Bortles, the Jaguars will focus this season on improving and building a solid base of talent around him. Here are five signed undrafted free agents who could make the final 53-man roster and, more importantly, an impact for the team.

5. SS Craig Loston – LSU

Loston could easily make the Jaguars squad in order to be a big hitter in obvious rushing situations. A very physical defensive back, he could benefit from signing with a team that would look over his weaknesses for his strengths.

4. RB Terrance Cobb – Cumberlands

As a small-school prospect, Cobb didn’t have the recognition that many running backs in the draft had, but his body size and speed screams NFL back. With the departure of Maurice Jones-Drew, this big, fast running back could be just what the Jaguars need.

3. TE Marcel Jensen – Fresno State

Although Marcedes Lewis is the main tight end for the Jaguars, Jensen could make the team as maybe the third tight end based on his special teams skills.

2. LB Marcus Whitfield – Maryland

Whitfield was one of the top pass-rushers in the ACC last season. In the AFC South with Teddy Bridgewater, Andrew Luck and a potentially healthy Jake Locker, pass-rushing is a necessity.

1. DT Deandre Coleman – Cal

Coleman has the body and strength for the NFL. Because he played for Cal, he didn’t get a lot of attention, but he’s a good player who could easily make an impact in the NFL.
