The Detroit Lions are heading into a summer of great anticipation, starting with the team’s OTAs. The Lions, if nothing else, have had the most consistent placekickers in the NFL in the past three decades. Last season’s kicking experiments busted, so this year they spent a wise late-round draft pick on the uber-accurate Nate Freese out of Boston College. Jason Hanson apparently gave him the stamp of approval, which is all the Lions really need to know.

The Lions have notoriously found ways to kick themselves in the groin at just the worst times, like some bad Adam Sandler movie.
