Johnny Manziel is one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL and he hasn’t even played a single game. Anything he does is a story, which if he didn’t know that already, he knows it now.
Manziel took a trip to Las Vegas over Memorial Day weekend, which of course made national news. However, the QB doesn’t see any issue with his trip:
“I don’t live my life according to you guys or according to what other people think of me. I’m going to live my life to the fullest, and I’m going to continue to be committed to this game and committed to what I need to be doing here to earn my place in this locker room, with these coaches and this organization. … I really don’t care what anybody has to say…People think I’m doing something wild when I’m just living a normal life. … I’m very surprised actually that it’s a story,” said Manziel.
How is he surprised that this is a story?
I hate the fact that Manziel going to Sin City is a story, but that’s just the way things go in 2014 with social media and the ability to capture everything on video.
It’s sad, but Manziel to Vegas is just one example of a non-story that is indeed a big story these days. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him having fun on the side, but he’ll probably be best served to keep a lower profile in the future.
Anything Johnny Football does is a story, like it or not.
