Richard Sherman is the best cornerback in the NFL. When he’s not creating havoc for opposing offenses in the secondary, he’s usually running his mouth. But given that it’s the offseason, Sherman has plenty of time on his hands. He took some of that free time recently and made a trip to the kitchen to help out Michelle Obama.
This is of course part of the first lady’s healthy eating campaign, which regardless of your political opinons, is a good thing at its core. Mrs. Obama knows this country is full of way too many overweight folks and that a little healthy eating is in line.
As for Sherman’s performance, it wasn’t bad. He played into his persona and made fun of his infamous incident with Erin Andrews a few months back. Like him or not, you have to give Sherman credit for making fun of himself.
The meal they made in the video looked great. However, it’s not exactly something the average American can whip up. The dish looked like something you’d see in a nice restaurant, not like something you’d see on kitchen tables across this great land.
Regardless, the point behind the video is a good one. It’s a cliche mom saying, but you are what you eat. If you eat crap, you’re going to feel like crap. To reach your full potential, you have to branch out and eat more high octane foods. It’s really that simple, but it’s also hard to apply those concepts in real-life situations.
