The Jaguars have made it abundantly clear that Blake Bortles will not begin the season as the starting quarterback after being drafted No. 3 overall by Jacksonville. In fact, they have said they feel comfortable letting Bortles sit the entire season and learn behind veteran QB, Chad Henne, who started 13 games last season. Nonetheless, Bortles has been impressive so far in OTAs.

Last year's No. 2 overall pick, Luke Joeckel, played only five games last season for the Jaguars after fracturing his ankle but is finally healthy coming into OTAs and should provide a boost to the offensive line that struggled in 2013. The Jaguars have high expectations for Joeckel and have been pleased with his progress thus far.

Another prized possession of the Jaguars is former Southern California wideout, Marqise Lee. In addition to Lee, the Jaguars drafted Penn State's Allen Robinson, have Ace Sanders returning for his second year and also signed former Baltimore Raven, Tandon Doss—all of whom join veteran, Cecil Shorts. No where to be found is suspended former first-round pick, Justin Blackmon. It is a crowded group, but that's a good problem to have.

Gerhart has arrived with lofty expectations to carry the load in the Jaguars backfield and is ready to show he can be a starter in the NFL. The Jaguars also have Jordan Todman, seventh-round pick, Storm Johnson, and Denard Robinson.

The Jaguars defense is evolving into a "BEAR" front or 46 defense. They are trading in the "LEO" (weak-side hybrid LB/DE) for the "OTTO" (a pass-rusher off the edge). Former Buccaneers linebacker, Dekoda Watson was signed to play this position. They also signed Red Bryant, Ziggy Hood, Chris Clemons and drafted Chris Smith to add depth to the defensive line.
