With the 2014 NFL season rapidly approaching, fans are finally seeing some football on the television screens again with OTAs. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of question marks surrounding the team with a disappointing season in 2013, and this is a perfect time for the organization to evaluate itself for 2014 and the future.

Here are five moves the Pittsburgh Steelers must make during OTAs.

The speedy receiver Markus Wheaton must emerge as a threat on offense for the Steelers to overpower the defenses of the AFC North. Whether that means hanging out with Ben Roethlisberger for the whole summer or locking himself in the film room, Wheaton needs to emerge as a reliable option for his quarterback.

New receiver additions Lance Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey provide new depth and options for the Steelers' passing attack, but they must fit into the system in order to provide Big Ben with the weapons he needs. Moore is closing in on the end of his career and Heywad-Bey has not lived up to being a first-round draft pick, but a change of scenery could bring new life to these receivers and the Steelers passing attack.

The organization can not worry about an eight-win season last year or the amount of Super Bowl rings it has. It is time to get serious and evaluate all the pieces on the team, or the Steelers could end up as the new Cleveland Browns for the next several years.

2. Bringing the Defense Together

Much has been made about the fact that Ryan Clark is no longer with Steelers, but free safety Mike Mitchell is a nice addition to the defense. He must come together with Troy Polamalu if the defense wants to return to a dominant force.

The 34-year-old Ike Taylor can no longer cover the speedy receivers who are flooding the league, and cornerback Cortez Allen needs to establish himself as the shutdown corner that the Steelers think he can be. The Steelers need to get him to step up before the start of the season.
