The New England Patriots have owned the AFC East for over a decade now entering the 2014 NFL season. With a plethora of offseason moves to improve the defense, let's take a look at five early predictions for the Patriots this upcoming season.

Despite missing some games this season due to a suspension by the league, CB Brandon Browner will lead the team in interceptions with six. Browner is a ball-hawking corner who will see a ton of looks with CB Darrelle Revis on the opposite side of the field. Browner's length and aggressiveness will lead to a ton of opportunities to grab some interceptions.

WR Aaron Dobson had a very rookie-like season last year during his first professional season. Dobson was unreliable for the most part, but he did show potential down the stretch for the Patriots. This season, Dobson will go on to lead the Patriots in yards with 1,200-plus receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He will play a big role in QB Tom Brady's success this season throwing the football.

One of my favorite Patriots players, DE Chandler Jones will finally have a huge breakout season during his third professional season by racking up 15 sacks. Jones' ability to use his length and athleticism will be on display facing AFC opponents. With Revis and Browner now covering opposing receivers, Jones will have extra time to get to the QB. He'll make good use of it.

2. RB Stevan Ridley Will Gain Respect

RB Stevan Ridley will finally gain the respect of his coaching staff, fellow teammates and peers around the league by becoming the Patriots' most reliable runner. Ridley has had issues with holding onto the football in recent seasons, but this year the young back is in a make-or-break season. He will finally hold onto the football en route to 1,200-plus rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.

The AFC East, although Buffalo, Miami and New York have vastly improved, is still run through the Patriots at the end of the day. QB Tom Brady will lead his Patriots team to an 11-5 record and a No. 2 seed in the AFC Playoff picture. Look for Brady and Co. to ride a vastly improved defense to a division crown this season.
