Social media, specifically Twitter, has changed the way fans interact with players. It also gives people inside access into a day in the life of a professional athlete. Here are the top five current Buffalo Bills to follow on Twitter.
Rames Barden (@RamsesSHINES) may be one of the most interesting players to follow on Twitter. Many of his tweets promote his holistic lifestyle, which includes being vegan. His philosophical tweets will really get you thinking. “I believe we learn the most by studying out essence and the reflection of ourselves in the world around us,” Barden tweeted on May 14, 2014.
Brandon Spikes (@BrandonSpikes51) is very outspoken, and it didn’t take long for him to speak out on Twitter against his former team, the New England Patriots. Ever since his Twitter rant against the Patriots, Spikes has been actively engaging with Bills fans and follows up several of his tweets with #BillsMafia. He’s often very funny with his one-liners and loves to rate and review movies.
Probably the No. 1 reason to follow Aaron Williams (@ajwilliams23) is for the hilarious videos he posts. Some of the videos he’s posted include horsing around on the golf course and teammates dancing in the locker room. Williams is a country boy at heart, so don’t be surprised to see him post photos with a cowboy hat on at the rodeo or backstage at a country concert.
Ever wonder what a day in the life of a top NFL draft pick is like? Follow Sammy Watkins (@sammywatkins) and enjoy his perspective on what it’s like. From visiting Niagara Falls to participating in the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, he has it all documented with words, videos and photos. You can tell how grateful and excited Watkins is to be in Buffalo and playing for the Bills through his tweets.
It’s hard not to be in a great mood after reading tweets from Fred Jackson (@Fred22Jackson). He’s always so optimistic and pumped up, whether it’s a post about the team or his family. Jackson is a family man and that’s reflected in the photos he posts. He loves showing off his kids as a proud father. He’s also very engaging with the fans and consistently responds to their questions and comments on photos directed toward him.
