All seems to be well when it comes to Vernon Davis‘s alleged contract issues with the San Francisco 49ers. The Pro Bowl Tight End missed the team’s OTAs, and there were whispers that he was upset about his contract. Davis, who is arguably the 49ers’ most important offensive weapon outside of Colin Kaepernick, caused panic for 49ers nation by him missing time in OTAs. People fail to realize that OTAs are voluntary, and players can miss them. It doesn’t look good when the rest of the team shows up, but as long as Davis reports to training camp, then everything is okay.
Per CSNBayArea.com, it was noted that Davis will attend the team’s mandatory mincamp. With Davis attending minicamp, it gives the 49ers a huge sigh of relief. With the minicamp being mandatory, it’s no surpise that Davis will be in attendance.
The 49ers have to pay a lot of players in the next year or so, and it is huge that Davis has no qualms about his contract.
As expected, Davis sees the big picture, and knows that his team is on a quest for the team’s sixth Super Bowl, and he needs to be in attendance when it matters the most.
Since entering the NFL Davis has been one of top paid players at his position, and it is refreshing to see that he is not chasing more dollars. Davis is the third-highest-paid tight end in the NFL, and from a market standpoint, that is just about right. Davis is one of the top players at his position, and he is being paid as such.
At this moment 49ers fans in the Bay and across the world can wipe their foreheads knowing that Davis will be in attendance for minicamp.
