OTAs are winding down for the Philadelphia Eagles and as we march toward July and eventually training camp and the preseason, the depth chart will become clearer and clearer. There have certainly been some surprises and impressive performances so far.

Let's take a look at five players climbing the Philadelphia Eagles' depth chart during OTAs.

Chris Polk will now be relied on to be the main running back behind LeSean McCoy with the trade of Bryce Brown. While Darren Sproles is a nice addition, he is more of a threat in the passing game. Polk will see increased carries and will have to take the reigns at running back if there is an injury to McCoy.

Marcus Smith is currently running with the third team at outside linebacker during OTAs. I expect that to change. Smith is simply too talented not too see the field this year at some point. He has skills rushing the passer and in coverage. I expect Smith to push for major playing time this season and eventually unseat Trent Cole.

3. Earl Wolff

Earl Wolff showed flashes of brilliance before he went down with an injury last year. He is a physical safety, which the Eagles desperately need in their back end, and has a real instinct for the position. Wolff is cemented as the 2nd team safety now, but I expect him to dethrone Nate Allen as a starter when all is said and done.

Nolan Carroll has really flashed so far during OTAS. He's been a ball hawk, breaking up passes and intercepting the ball. Carroll is just the type of cornerback Chip Kelly craves. He is big and fast. I believe Carroll will really push Bradley Fletcher for a starting job at cornerback and before all is said and done may even beat him out.

Jordan Matthews has been the most impressive player so far during OTAs for the Philadelphia Eagles. He has caught everything thrown his way and has flashed major athletic ability. Matthews has a chance to be special with his premium skill and tireless work ethic. He is the one to watch this season as he starts off in the slot, but no question will be a threat on the outside in time for the Eagles.
