Like most years, last season the Denver Broncos had a few surprise players burst on to the scene. Guys like Julius Thomas, Duke Ihenacho and Danny Trevathan made huge impacts on the Broncos run to the Super Bowl. Thomas was the most surprising, reeling in 12 touchdown receptions, and Trevathan led the Broncos in tackles in 2013 with 129. Only ten players had more. So here are five players who could surprise people with a big impact this season.

Chris Harris has been known to be overshadowed by top name players like Champ Bailey and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Now with the signing of Aqib Talib, Harris should once again go under the radar. Rookie Bradley Roby should compete with him in training camp, but Harris' hustle and ball skills -- he's had seven career interceptions since his rookie season in 2010 -- will make a huge impact for Denver in 2014.

4. Chris Clark

Last season, Chris Clark was asked to replace Ryan Clady at left tackle, as Clady went down with a season-ending knee injury. He fared better then anybody would have imagined. This season with Orlando Franklin possibly moving to guard, Clark will join Clady at the right tackle position and help give Peyton Manning more time to throw touchdown passes, which could lead to a possible Pro Bowl season for Clark.

3. Gerell Robinson

Gerrell Robinson passes the eye test for tight ends. He played wide receiver at Arizona State with Brock Osweiler and was switched to wideout last season. Robinson has good hands and has been on the practice squad for the past three seasons. He is poised to have a breakout season with his size and ability. If Robinson makes the active roster this season, it could possibly get either Jacob Tamme or Joel Dressen cut in preseason.

2. Malik Jackson

Last season, Malik Jackson actually happened to be a dark horse who stepped up in big games. He had six sacks which included a sack in AFC Divisional Playoff vs. San Diego. Jackson helped fill the void of losing Elvis Dumervil, and with teams adding attention to DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller this season, Jackson could be getting to the quarterback quite often in 2014.

The middle linebacker position is Nate Irving's to lose. With the loss of Wesley Woodyard to the Tennessee Titans and Denver's inability to sign or draft a solid middle linebacker this offseason, Irving will need to step up. He played pretty solid in relief of Von Miller at strong side linebacker last year, and with LSU rookie Lamin Barrow more than likely playing special teams, Irving could be a tackling machine in 2014.
