The Baltimore Ravens' championship season seems like quite a long time ago now, but there is cause for optimism in their next campaign. John Harbaugh would love to get back to the big game, and these are the five thing that could stand in his way.

Ray Rice was indicted on a third-degree aggravated assault charge this offseason, but hopefully it was the wakeup call that he needed in order to turn his life around. The newly married running back could stand to gain a lot from performing well (both on and off the field) next season, and it would not surprise me to see him undertake some charity work as a result of the incident.

The signing of Gary Kubiak will hopefully help the Ravens' offense next season, but their defense has always been the core of their identity. We will have to see what John Harbaugh can do to right the ship, and let us hope he is not working for his brother next season.

We all remember how Joe Flacco played during the Super Bowl run, and those days have long since passed him by. He cashed in on 2013 with a hefty contract extension, but that has ended up handcuffing the Ravens' ability to improve their roster. The answer? Their QB needs to be better.

Steve Smith will no longer have Cam Newton throwing the football to him, and the wideout's touches should decrease as a result. Torrey Smith and Marlon Brown could benefit from the veteran wide receiver's experience.; however, I still have my questions about whether they will be able to move the ball effectively on third downs.

Eugene Monroe was the man they signed to a five-year deal this offseason, and we will have to see if he can live up to that contract. Jeremy Zuttah and Kelechi Osemele will be key players on the offensive line to keep track of for the Ravens as well, because we all know that football games are won in the trenches.
