One thing that many Dallas Cowboys fans may not realize is that aside from the big three of Dez Bryant, Tyron Smith and DeMarco Murray, there are other key players who need to be re-signed by this coming offseason. One of those players is Dwayne Harris, and he may very well be the next biggest need for the Boys to bring back.

While Harris may not be the offensive playmaker that Bryant and Murray are, and he’s not a crucial piece of the offensive line like Smith, he’s the player who takes advantage of every opportunity he’s given. He’s been absolutely massive for this team in terms of giving them the strong field position on both kick returns and punt returns. You can’t understate how important getting great field position is in the NFL.

On top of that though, the momentum swings and excitement that Harris brings this team with those returns and his ability to make plays is huge. He’s also made a few key catches in his time at wide receiver for the Cowboys, which can’t be overlooked as well.

He won’t get paid massive money like the Cowboys’ big three free agents will, but he’s a player that can’t be overlooked this offseason as his contract comes to an end after the 2014 NFL season. The real question now is where the Cowboys are going to get the money to pay all of these players, but that’s going to end up being a whole different situation that the Boys are going to have to work out. Just be sure that you don’t overlook Harris when the contracts begin to get finalized.
