Entering the 2014 season there is a lot of excitement when talking about the Carolina Panthers. After having a strong 2013, many feel that the Panthers can continue to improve as one of the best teams in the NFC. These are five players that the Panthers can't afford to replace.

Greg Olsen is returning this season as Cam Newton's No. 1 target. Olsen tends to get lost in the shuffle when talking about the NFL's best tight ends, but in Carolina his value is more than appreciated. The Panthers don't have a lot of offensive firepower, and if Olsen were ever out of the lineup things could get downright scary.

Ryan Kalil is arguably the best center in the NFL, and his impact would be hard to duplicate. The All-Pro lineman is the glue to the Panthers' offense, and it would be tough to see that group succeed without Kalil in the lineup. It seems like offensive linemen never get enough credit, but for Kalil that's another story.

With the NFL in a passing frenzy it's a priority to have a top-tier pass rusher. Greg Hardy is one of the best at his position, and he is also one of the emotional leaders on the Panthers team. Combining his leadership abilities and play on the field, he is someone who is beyond irreplaceable to the Panthers team.

2. Luke Kuechly

Since coming into the NFL, Luke Kuechly has been the mainstay for a stout Carolina Panthers defense. Kuechly is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, so that speaks for itself. Kuechly may not say much on the field, but his game speaks volumes. Kuechly's play is something that the Panthers thrive off of, and that cannot be replaced at any given moment.

Cam Newton is called Superman for a reason. The Panthers quarterback was arguably one of the best quarterbacks during last season. Newton's impact as a leader has improved, and it has matched his play on the field. There isn't a backup quarterback who can step in and play the role of Newton, nor is there a player on the Panthers team who makes the impact that No. 1 has on the field.
