The San Francisco 49ers have a star-studded roster on both sides of the ball. People rant and rave about players such as Colin Kaepernick, Patrick Willis, Frank Gore and Vernon Davis, but there are other players on the 49ers roster who have a great impact as well. In order to hoist the Lombardi Trophy this year, everyone on the roster will have to produce. With that said, here are five of the most underrated 49ers players entering 2014.

5. Phil Dawson

Kickers seem to be the laughing stock of the NFL, but when they are making field goals they are one of the most respected positions in the game. San Francisco 49ers kicker Phil Dawson displayed his value to the team last season as he made 32 out of 36 kicks as well as nailing the game-winning field goal in the playoff contest against the Packers. Having a kicker to rely on is huge when playing in a division as tough as the NFC West.

Whether if it is being the holder for the previously mentioned Phil Dawson or nailing punts inside of the 10-yard line, Andy Lee does it all. Lee's ability to pin offenses into unwanted territory allows the San Francisco 49ers to be at their best. It's no coincidence that the 49ers have always had a top-tier defense while Lee has been handling punting duties.

3. Tramaine Brock

Tramaine Brock would probably be looked at as a potential star if the 49ers didn't have so many star players on the defensive side of the ball. Brock will continue to fly under the radar, but his play is vital to the 49ers' success. In the 2014 season a lot will be expected of Brock, and he will look to duplicate the success from last season. Brock may be underrated at this point, but he will look to take the next step in his development.

2. Antoine Bethea

Newly acquired safety Antoine Bethea seems to be the forgotten man on the San Francisco 49ers' defense. Bethea will be replacing Donte Whitner at the strong safety position, and he will look to continue the tradition of strong safety play for the 49ers. Bethea will have the luxury to fly under the radar as many people focus on the big names on the defense.

1. Ahmad Brooks

It sounds crazy to say that an All-Pro performer is underrated, but with the star-studded defense that the 49ers have it is not out of question. The success of Ahmad Brooks seems to get lost in the shuffle when comparing to his other three counterparts at the linebacker position. Brooks will continue to fly under the radar even though he is an All-Pro talent.
