Going into the 2013 NFL season, many predicted that the New York Jets would be in a battle for the 1st overall pick in the draft. However, with a limited roster, the Jets finished 8-8 and were one game out of the final Wild Card spot. Rex Ryan proved his worth, and New York heads into 2014 with high hopes. With little room for injuries on a not-so-talented roster, here are five irreplaceable players for the Jets in 2014.

He has shown glimpses of elite status during his brief NFL tenure, but has been wildly inconsistent. This is the year Quinton Coples really needs to step up and help a rather depleted secondary. If he plays to his potential, it is extremely important for him to stay on the field.

4. Michael Vick, QB

This is a name people will not expect to see on this list. Even if Michael Vick does not play a snap all season, he will need to prove as a valuable mentor to Geno Smith. Vick played that role fabulously last season in Philadelphia, but will also need to step in, in case of poor play or injury.

3. D’Brickashaw Ferguson, LT

Somebody from the offensive line had to make the list. Assuming Geno Smith is the starting quarterback, D’Brickashaw Ferguson must get back to pro-bowl status for the Jets to have any shot this season.

2. Eric Decker, WR

The Jets’ prized free agent acquisition this offseason comes into New York with a lot of weight to carry. While it is unlikely that he will duplicate his production from his time in Denver, Eric Decker is one of the only playmakers New York has on offense.

This guy is arguably the Jets' most valuable player. The defense goes as this All-Pro goes.
