The New England Patriots have way too much talent for the window to close on them before making it to the Super Bowl. Here are five players who need prove how good they are in 2014.
McCourty needs to prove that he can be leader in the secondary. He is the best safety on the team and he is playing for a paycheck. Devin needs to show that he deserves an extension.
After sitting out a year, Wilfork should be motivated to redeem himself and make a significant impact on the field. Not only does he need to play his best, but he needs prove he can be a leader and mentor the other young defenders.
Ridley is the No. 1 running back for the Patriots. He has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and needs to show that the fumbling problems are behind him. When Ridley holds on to the ball, he can impact the offense in a big way.
Gronkowski hasn't played a full season since his rookie year and can never play when it matters. The big tight end needs to prove that he is key to a title for the Patriots.
After a poor statistical year, many claimed Brady wasn't an elite quarterback anymore. Also, Brady hasn't won a Super Bowl in a decade. The window is closing for the future Hall-of-Famer; this is the year to get his fourth ring.
