The battle for Drew Brees’ backup is alive and well in the Crescent City. The Veteran, Luke McCown, is the favorite to win it, but second-year man Ryan Griffin from New Orleans’ own Tulane University may have something to say about that. During minicamp, he looked comfortable in the system and limited the mistakes my making excellent reads and accurate throws. Keep an eye on this when Saints’ training camp arrives later this month.

Right now, the outside linebacker job opposite Junior Galette is up for grabs. Victor Butler was set to be the starter in 2013, but missed the entire year with a torn ACL. Parys Haralson re-signed with the team after a solid outing last season and will be Butler's main competition. Rookie Ronald Powell will look to make a case as well, but his odds are a bit slim against the two veterans. This may be the biggest positional battle at camp.

Saints’ first-round pick Brandin Cooks is expected to make an immediate impact for the Black and Gold this season. He was the quickest wideout in the 2014 NFL Draft and his versatility will look to add an extra boost to that already high-powered offense captained by Drew Brees. The first step in proving he was worth the selection will be training camp.

A decision on the Jimmy Graham hearing is expected to be reached on Thursday, but that doesn't mean he's a lock to participate at Training Camp. A long-term deal will likely have to be reached before he shows his face around the team. Is he a team player? Will he participate at camp? Will the two sides work out a deal to keep him around the Big Easy for the long haul? This will all be something to keep an eye on this summer.

John Jenkins (left) and Jarius Byrd (middle) both underwent surgery last month and were non-participants at OTAs. Byrd had a minor back surgery and was just expected to be sidelined for a couple of weeks. Jenkins had a more serious surgery on a torn pectoral muscle, which could have been a major problem during the regular season. Both are expected to be ready to go for training camp, but their health should still be something to monitor.
