With Austin Howard departing via free agency, the Jets needed to address his departure. They acquired offensive lineman Breno Giacomini, who is coming off his Super Bowl winning season with the Seattle Seahawks. Giacomini brings great leadership and a hardworking mentality to the Jets' O-line, as he will definitely help those around him improve. He's a good pickup and will contribute heavily to the Jets' running game.

4. WR Eric Decker

The biggest free agent pickup for the Jets this offseason, wide receiver Eric Decker will now bring his talents to the big apple. Decker alone is a major upgrade over the entire wide receiver corps that was on the field last season, as he will definitely give a big boost to the Jets' offense. Expect a breakout year for Decker, as he will live up to the hype and also help develop those around him to perform better.

The Jets' special teams unit has finally been given a major overhaul, especially when it comes to kick and punt returning duties. The Jets went after one of the fastest players in the NFL to help bolster the threat of returns with Jacoby Ford. The Jets also believe he will be a major contributor in providing excellent field positioning, which could be a turning point in close games. Ford will be lighting up the NFL this season.

2. CB Dimitri Patterson

The Jets needed to secure a veteran cornerback to help guide the youth movement they plan to deploy this season with its defensive secondary. Dimitri Patterson has much to prove since he was casted away by the Miami Dolphins, and is now in a great position to be a leader on defense as those around him will look up to him as a mentor. Patterson will surprise many this season with some pretty solid defensive skills.

1. RB Chris Johnson

Chris Johnson has the most upside out of every Jets offseason acquisition. He left the Tennessee Titans in hopes of revitalizing his career to rekindle the magic he once had. Most will expect him to continue being on the decline due to his nagging injury, but keep in mind, he's on a brand new team now with a chip on his shoulder. Expect CJ2K to bring back great memories as he rushes over 1,000 yards and makes the Jets playoff contenders again!
