5 Teams That Could Trade for Troubled Cleveland Browns WR Josh Gordon

5 Teams That Could Trade for Josh Gordon

Josh Gordon’s latest run-in with the law could force the Cleveland Browns to cut the wide receiver. Personally, I wouldn’t blame them, because at some point the headache is not worth the talent. A change of scenery could help Gordon get his career - and life - back on track, which begs the question of which NFL teams might be willing to make a trade for the troubled wide receiver?

The Patriots can seemingly produce slot wide receivers without any issues, but they have always struggled to find a difference maker on the outside. Gordon could give them the presence they have been looking for. Bill Belichick could be the perfect no-nonsense type of coach that he needs. Not a lot of teams would be willing to take a chance on Gordon if he fails in New England.

The Panthers don’t have much talent at the wide receiver position, and pairing Gordon with Cam Newton would be a great combo. Outside of rookie Kelvin Benjamin there isn’t much to be scared of with the Panthers. They are going to have to find a way to match the other offenses in the NFC South, and adding Gordon would help solve that problem once he's back from suspension.

The Oakland Raiders continue to try and add elite talent to their roster, and they got off to a great start with Khalil Mack. Adding Gordon would give the Raiders a difference maker on the offensive side of the ball as well. He could help either Matt Schaub or Derek Carr by giving them a legitimate No. 1 receiver to throw to.

The Vikings could be starting Teddy Bridgewater in 2014, and the rookie will need all the help he can get. Gordon would be a match made in heaven for Minnesota. The team could pair him with Adrian Peterson and Cordarrelle Patterson, surrounding Bridgewater with a plethora of talent. Not to mention offensive coordinator Norv Turner knows exactly how to get the most out of Gordon.

The defending Super Bowl champions would be a great fit for Gordon. The Seahawks could use another weapon on the outside, and pairing him with Percy Harvin would give them a dangerous passing attack to go along with an elite defense. Head coach Pete Carroll knows how to manage big personalities well, and the environment in Seattle is all about football.
