The 2015 NFL draft is expected to feature a ton of talent, especially at the quarterback position. Guys like Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston have garnered much of the hype, but neither of those two should be considered the best quarterback prospect in next year’s draft. Instead, Brett Hundley deserves the distinction of 2015’s best quarterback prospect.

Hundley’s physical tools are outstanding — better than those of anybody in the 2014 class with the exception of Logan Thomas. It’s impossible to watch Hundley and not be impressed with the man’s arm. He has an absolute cannon, and he generally delivers an accurate ball to his receivers. Not to mention, Hundley trusts his protection and goes through his reads before delivering a pass, traits that are rare in young quarterbacks.

That’s not to say Hundley doesn’t have his flaws, but even his weaknesses are things that can be improved. The area in which  Hundley could use some work is consistency in his accuracy, but that’s not due to a lack of talent. Rather, it’s just a matter of cleaning up some of the smaller, technical things in Hundley’s game. If he can clean up his footwork and keep his feet set, his weak points will be minimal.

Furthermore, Hundley looks like a prototypical NFL quarterback. He’s got the size at 6-foot-3, 222 pounds, the strong build, and big arm that give him the look of a future star. Throw in the fact that he is going to have another season of development before heading into the NFL, and it’s impossible to not be excited about Hundley.

Overall, the 2015 quarterback class isn’t going to be lead by Mariota or Winston, but rather Hundley. The young signal caller is everything an NFL team would want in a quarterback, and I fully expect him to gain more and more recognition as the season wears on.
