Heading into Cleveland Browns training camp, there are several roster spots available. While players such as Joe Thomas, Alex Mack, Joe Haden and Jordan Cameron are locked into their roster spots, others are fighting for a chance to prove that they're worthy of playing in the NFL. Here are five of those dark horse players fighting to make the 53-man roster in Cleveland.

Although offensive line isn't the most flashy position, the Cleveland Browns have been working to solidify who will start alongside left tackle Joe Thomas and center Alex Mack. Right tackle Mitchell Schwartz seems to have the position locked up, but a player like Reid Fragel could be a nice choice to back him up should Schwartz falter.

Josh Gordon's pending suspension leaves the Browns' receiving group in limbo by freeing a roster slot. Andrew Hawkins, Nate Burleson, Travis Benjamin, Anthony Armstrong and Miles Austin have made the roster almost by default. Whether the Browns decide to hold on to one more wide receiver remains to be seen, but undrafted rookie free agent Willie Snead could fill the role. Snead doesn't possess significant speed or size but could fill the void.

Plagued by injuries, Jacobbi McDaniel has shown that he belongs on the big stage. At Florida State, McDaniel totaled 92 tackles and 2.5 sacks and was top contributor on a national championship defense. McDaniel, an undrafted free agent, brings a relentless style of play and his never-ending supply of energy will complement a Browns' defensive line that has been a strong point in Cleveland during recent seasons.

2. Connor Shaw, QB

Undrafted rookie free agent Connor Shaw will need to outplay veteran backup Tyler Thigpen if he wants to earn a spot with the Browns. It's unknown whether the Browns and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan will want to keep two or three quarterbacks on the active roster, so Shaw could be fighting for a role on the practice squad. Shaw brings a subtle blend of Brian Hoyer's accuracy and Johnny Manziel's mobility, which will help his chances.

While the Browns have running backs Ben Tate, Terrance West and Dion Lewis seemingly filling the RB spots, undrafted rookie free agent Isaiah Crowell has a legitimate shot at making the roster. Crowell was named freshman of the year at Georgia before legal issues forced him to continue playing in the FBS. Crowell has the speed, shiftiness and durability that NFL teams are searching for; hopefully the Browns can find ways to use his versatility.
