Dallas Cowboys: Long Shots Who Could Make 2014 Pro Bowl
Every season in the NFL there are going to be players who come out of nowhere, have career years and make it to the postseason. This year will be no different, and I believe we could see a few surprises on the Dallas Cowboys roster who end up making it to the 2014 Pro Bowl. I’m not talking about the players who we should expect to make it to the Pro Bowl, but the guys who would shock most if they made it in. So let’s look at a few potentials.
One player who is an incredibly long shot to make it, but I think could be in a good position to do this, is Morris Claiborne. Claiborne is basically playing with a massive chip on his shoulder after being a high draft pick and being ineffective, as well as constantly injured. I still believe Claiborne has the talent, and I think this might be the year that we see him show that talent to us. Seeing Claiborne on a Pro Bowl roster sounds crazy right now, but if the defense improves at all, Claiborne may be a big part of that improvement.
Tyrone Crawford is an interesting name to watch, as many people are expecting to see him have a big year and come out to fill one of the major holes on the Cowboys roster. I like what Crawford did when he got time last season, and this year I believe that he’s going to be a key part of whether or not the defense improves or stays at the bottom of the league.
Lastly, I’m going to point out Bruce Carter. Carter has a lot to prove this season, and it’s going to be a huge one for him. He has a ton of talent, but the outside linebacker for the Cowboys will need to step up and make some noise for this defense. With middle linebacker already a question mark, they can’t have the outside linebacker spots not step up.
