RB DeMarco Murray isn’t one of the more outspoke Dallas Cowboys players. Sure, he’ll speak up from time to time and give some input on his thoughts about the team, his workload and etc., but his most recent statement is one that lifted quite a few eyebrows of Cowboys fans, as well as NFL fans in general.
Murray has been a part of three 8-8 years in a row with the Cowboys, and everyone, especially the players, are ready to get over that hump and back into the postseason. The current starting running back for the Cowboys apparently thinks they aren’t far, though, as he said that this is the best team that he’s been on.
Murray also said that he’s feeling great and that he’s ready to go. You can bet that the bulk of these Cowboys players are ready to get past the chatter of what happened last season, and just get onto the field to play. The Boys are an interesting team to watch in 2014, and Murray is going to be a key to their success. He’s coming off of his first ever 1,000-yard rushing season, as well as a Pro Bowl appearance.
Things are different from previous years, though, so no one really knows what to expect. The Boys lost Jason Hatcher to free agency and released seven-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Ware in a money-saving move. They’ve also added some interesting players like Henry Melton for example, and are hoping to get the most of a group of young defensive players who really want to prove themselves.
If Murray is right, then we could be looking at one of the more surprising teams in the NFL in 2014.
