The Dallas Cowboys have arrived in Southern California and are set to kick off training camp at the end of the week.
However, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the Cowboys and they can certainly use all the help they can get, as they continue to figure things out.
With that said, here are five bold predictions for the Cowboys in training camp.
Cole Beasley was the team’s most consistent target on third down in 2013, catching 14 of 18 passes, and with an even more developed route tree in 2014, I expect a bigger role for him. I think that during training camp, he will solidify himself as the No. 3 receiver for the Cowboys.
I’m not ready to throw in the towel on Morris Claiborne, and for that reason I think that during training camp, he will show why he was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2012 Draft. He’s entering camp completely healthy, and I have to believe that he’s itching to prove himself.
Before a gruesome injury ended Tyrone Crawford’s 2013 season, I had him pegged as the Cowboys’ secret weapon on the defensive line. He’s arguably the most versatile defensive lineman that they have and I don’t think that George Selvie will hold him off.
Rolando McClain is getting a fresh start with the Cowboys after flaming out in Oakland and Baltimore, and when it’s all said and done, I think that he will be looked at as one of the best decisions that Will McClay and company have made in a long time. I don’t think that Justin Durant is best suited to play MLB, and I don’t think that Anthony Hitchens is ready for that type of responsibility.
There is little doubt that Matt Johnson is the most athletic safety in Dallas, and if you’ve ever seen his college tape, you know what I'm talking about. Although he didn’t do so in previous years, I think that he will stay healthy and win the starting FS spot next to Barry Church.
