With training camp underway, as well as the NFL preseason, the following are five bold predictions about the New York Jets as they work towards a successful year.

It's no surprise that the Jets haven't had a legitimate big-time tight end in quite some time. While Jace Amaro is having some trouble adjusting to the Jets' offensive playbook, he has plenty of abilities to take the offense to new heights. Jeff Cumberland, on the other hand, won't be consistent enough to warrant having the starting spot all season long. Expect Amaro to be given more playing time since he is the overall better athlete.

Expect to see a new unspoken leader rise on defense in the form of cornerback Dee Milliner. Entering his second season in the NFL, Milliner will absolutely become more vocal and be a key component in the Jets' revamped defensive secondary. He will be helping everyone around him as much as he can and work alongside veteran Dimitri Patterson to form a new dynamic duo of youth and experience.

3. RB Chris Johnson Solidifies Rushing Attack

It's no secret that the Jets plan to commit to a ground-and-pound offense by running the football. They made sure to bring in a veteran running back to help solidify their rushing attack and they got one that will revitalize it immediately. Running back Chris Johnson will have a huge season in which he will return to his original form and will boldly have a surprising breakout year. Expect to see him starting and receive the majority of snaps.

2. WR Stephen Hill To Be No. 2 Option For Now

Wide receiver Stephen Hill will emerge as the Jets' No. 2 receiving option since he's a veteran amongst the group and is having a great training camp thus far. Despite being inconsistent during the regular season, so far he's been doing a solid job in drills and practices. Expect to see him not hold onto this spot for too long if his inconsistency continues to plague him, as the Jets have plenty of options ready should he falter.

Make no mistake about it, quarterback Geno Smith will absolutely be the Jets' starter come Opening Week. He's been doing a great job in training camp and has become a solid leader on offense. He's throwing more accurately and making much better decisions on the field, which is exactly what the Jets need if they are to be successful this upcoming season. Expect a much better second year for Smith, as he will surprise many on his progression.
