5 Bold Predictions for the Denver Broncos' 2014 Training Camp

Football is finally back everyone. The Denver Broncos begin their quest to return to the Super Bowl on Thursday and the team is looking sharp. Training Camp is the first step towards another NFL season for all 32 teams in the league. All fans will keep an eye on the Broncos and find out how they recover from a success story turned sour in the big game.

Here are my five bold predictions for the Broncos this summer.

5. Bradley Roby Will Become Week 1 Starter

With news coming out that Chris Harris will start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, this leaves room for the Broncos first-round draft pick to battle for a starting spot. Look for Bradley Roby to compete and impress in training camp and begin the regular season opposite Aqib Talib in the starting lineup.

4. Kapri Bibbs and Brennan Clay Will Make 53-man Roster

It is clear that Montee Ball will become the starting running back for the Broncos. What is not clear is who his backup will be. I have been impressed with Kapri Bibbs and Brennan Clay as they can bring an element to the running game that Ball does not have yet. Look for both UDFAs to make the starting roster by their performances in the next month. It would be even more impressive since this would be two UDFAs to make the final roster.

3. Lamin Barrow Will Win The Starting MLB Job

With questions surrounding Nate Irving's abilities as a middle linebacker, this is the perfect opportunity for Lamin Barrow to become the other drafted rookie to start immediately for the franchise. While Roby winning a job is due to injury, Barrow will win it strictly on being better than Irving.

2. Ronnie Hillman Won't Survive The Final Cut

Around this time last year, Ronnie Hillman was the starting running back. Three fumbles and poor play in the summer launched him out of it and one fumble in the regular season landed him on the inactive list. It will be interesting to see if he can rebound, but after getting so many chances, I just do not see him on the team, especially with the others pushing him around.

1. Demaryius Thomas Will Have A New Contract

With rumors floating around that the Broncos want to lock up Demaryius Thomas sooner rather than later, I would not be surprised at all if they can figure out a deal before the regular season begins. We all know that they wanted it done before training camp, but anything can happen in the NFL. Look for the Broncos to get a deal done that will please both parties involved.
