Minnesota Vikings players will arrive at training camp on July 24 with practice beginning on July 25. There are a number of positions open for the taking and a number of players vying for these spots.

Here are five bold predictions for Vikings training camp.

Thielen, Minnesota State-Mankato alum, is entering his second training camp with the Vikings. Last year he was relegated to the practice squad. According to reports, he has shown a number of improvements this season. Thielen will make the team as the Vikings' No. 5 wide receiver and possibly backup kick returner as well.

The MLB position will be one of the most heated competitions during Vikings training camp this year. Cole, Michael Mauti and veteran Jasper Brinkley will all compete to be the starter. Cole was impressive when given the opportunity last season while Brinkley was underwhelming in Arizona in 2013. Cole is the best MLB on the roster and should be rewarded as such.

3. G David Yankey Will Be a Week 1 Starter

Despite Matt Kalil taking a step backwards in 2013, the Vikings' offensive line remains one of their greatest assets. However, the guard position was certainly a weakness with veteran Charlie Johnson and Brandon Fusco providing average or subpar production last season. Fifth-round steal David Yankey is a pro-ready, blocking machine who will compete every day over the next couple of weeks for one of the starting guard positions.

2. Cordarrelle Patterson Will Be No. 1 WR

The Vikings enter training camp with a fairly solid group of wide receivers. Greg Jennings is currently listed as the No. 1 receiver on the depth chart, but Patterson is quickly proving to be the biggest threat of the group. With so much hype and a dramatically increased role looming, Patterson will prove to be the Vikings No. 1 wide receiver, possibly as early as Week 1.

Many believe that Matt Cassel has a firm hold on the No. 1 QB spot in Minnesota and rightfully so, but Bridgewater has been working hard every day to win the Vikings' QB competition. From playing Madden with a downloaded Vikings playbook to being the first one in the building and last to leave every day, Bridgewater is showing the Vikings just how great of a leader he can be. His status as a rookie should not hold him back from being the starter.
