Maurkice Pouncey Joins List of Players Who Have Allegedly Punched Women
It hasn’t been a good week for the NFL. Ray Rice was given a two-game suspension for his involvement in a domestic incident, and it’s a ban that most people agree is not enough. It basically seems like Rice has been given a slap on the wrist for allegedly hitting a woman, all while dope smokers are being kicked out of the league for longer stints.
The incident supposedly happened at the Pouncey twins’ 2014 birthday party (they wore ‘Free Hernandez’ hats at the 2013 celebration). The civil complaint has been filed by Riquan James, Brantley Williams, and Niya Pickett, who say the two brothers became violent after an altercation at a Miami nightclub.
James alleges that homophobic comments were made to him by the Pouncey brothers and their security guards. From there things became violent, as James was supposedly pushed and shoved. He then claims he was kicked while down in the fetal position.
When Pickett tried to intervene, she alleges that Maurkice punched her in the face and knocked her unconscious.
These are startling claims to say the least.
We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of this. Will surveillance footage emerge? Will the case even make it to court?
Either way, you can bet that people will be awaiting the NFL’s ruling. Are the Pouncey brothers in line for two-game suspensions too?
