Team jerseys are one of the biggest parts of the NFL, as made evident by the millions of dollars fans spend each year on player jerseys. Looking at the top NFL jerseys in 2014, you won't find the likes of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers or Tampa Bay's new digital clock uniforms at the top of the list. Instead, classic looks reign supreme; here are the top NFL team jerseys in 2014.

The Pittsburgh Steelers' look stays true to their original color scheme with the black and yellow coloring and one-sided helmet decal, which signifies the three materials used to make steel: yellow for coal, orange for ore and blue for steel scrap. Pittsburgh's home and away jerseys are near the top of the list, but the team loses points due to their bumble-bee-inspired throwback jerseys that will be worn for the third year in a row.

The Jets have been wearing their Joe Namath-era jerseys since 1998, after 20 years of sporting the "modern" kelly green uniforms that displayed a jet in the logo. In 2014, the Jets will rely on Geno Smith to show flashes of Broadway Joe and lead the team to the playoffs.

Since 2011, the Buffalo Bills have worn jerseys that closely resemble the team's original scheme, sporting white helmets with a red and blue stripe down the center. The modernization of the look has been received well, and the white helmets keep it simpler than the red helmets that were worn from 1984-2010.

The jersey scheme you see today from the Chargers closely resembles the original team look from 1960. Although the team went to a blue helmet from 1979-2003, the white helmet with the yellow bolt has been in constant circulation at points from 1994-2004. The current Chargers jerseys are a nice throwback, but their nicest looking jersey could be the powder blue alternate uniform that they typically wear twice a season per NFL rules.

The Kansas City Chiefs' uniform design has remained virtually the same since the team was first established in 1960 as the Dallas Texans. The team has always sported a red helmet with both red and white jerseys. At times through its history, Kansas City has primarily worn red pants, but now has both white and red in circulation. In a league with ever-changing jerseys, the Chiefs have been able to remain true to form over the years.

For the Dallas Cowboys, being known as "America's Team" has meant remaining widely recognized. Owner Jerry Jones has done everything to ensure the moniker sticks, including building a .3 billion stadium and keeping the team's jersey and color scheme unchanged. The star on the Cowboys' helmet is one of the most popular logos in sports. The Cowboys are unique in that they typically wear their white jerseys and rarely wear solid colored jerseys.

Like many teams on this list, the San Francisco 49ers have kept a similar jersey scheme throughout the years, although the actual jersey has undergone changes. Initially the 49ers did not display any gold coloring to resemble their nickname, but first incorporated it in 1957. Today, the jerseys display a "modernized" classic look.

A true fan of the NFL will see green and gold together and immediately think things like Lambeau Field, Vince Lombardi and Brett Favre. Green Bay is one of football's oldest franchises and didn't always have the green it's known for today. When the team was established in 1923, gold was used in the original jerseys, but green wasn't introduced until 1935. The "G" helmet decal was instituted in the 60s during Bart Starr's playing days.

The navy blue and burnt orange Chicago Bears' jerseys go back to 1958 and the team has kept the same scheme all the way into 2014. The trademarked "C" on the helmets was first used in 1962 and while it has gone through minor changes, remains virtually the same. Something unique about Chicago's jerseys is that the Bears have had "GSH" stitched into the sleeves since the 1984 season—after founder George Halas passed away in 1983.

The imposing Oakland Raiders' jerseys that we see today have remained relatively unchanged since 1963. Although the team moved to Los Angeles from 1982-1994, the Raiders kept the silver and black jersey scheme. One of the most recognized teams in part for its ominous coloring and logo, the Raiders head the list of top 2014 NFL team jerseys.
