Arizona Cardinals Have to Cross Fingers and Toes After John Abraham DUI
There could be more trouble looming for the Arizona Cardinals and their defense after month old legal trouble for Defensive End John Abraham came to light recently. Though the Cardinals remain upbeat about the entire process, it has to be at least a little worrisome for a franchise that has already lost one defensive player to a season-long ban in Daryl Washington. Abraham must have the Cardinals’ coaching staff and front office staff kicking tires out back.
This is not the first time that Abraham has been in trouble with the law. Actually it is the third time in his NFL career. This time around it was a DUI at around the end of June. It is really easy for these guys to remain positive now but if Abraham ends up missing season time with legal issues, this team will have serious problems on defense. This is not after all just your random defensive end that is easily replaceable.
Abraham is a five time pro-bowler and a two-time first team All-Pro. He has nabbed more than 10 sacks eight times in his career and is the active NFL leader in sacks going into the season. This could be a good team in Arizona but the defensive side of the ball is going to need Abraham to plead whatever he needs to plead and make whatever deals he has to make in order to get onto the football field. If he ends up on the shelf for legal reasons, the Cardinals might be scrambling for a replacement.
