The Houston Texans are a team in rebuilding mode, and as a result, a few of the team’s notable players are on the roster bubble this training camp. The players on this list simply don’t quite fit in with the Texans anymore, and there’s a good chance at least a few of these guys find themselves looking for work. With that said, here are six players on the Texans’ roster bubble.

Perhaps the worst starting kicker in the NFL, Bullock is the type of kicker fans hate to see come on to the field. Despite his late-season surge in 2013, Bullock is likely to be released some time soon.

A few years ago, Thomas was one of the league’s bright young receivers with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Now, he’s nothing more than a journeyman, and likely to become a free agent again. The Texans have depth at the receiver position, and they don’t need Thomas.

Although Kupper is held in high regard among the Texans’ front office, there’s really no reason for the team to keep him. The drafting of Xavier Su’a-Filo likely sealed Kupper’s fate in Houston.

A below-average running back, Johnson isn’t likely to return to the Texans for a third season in 2014, due to the team’s drafting of Alfred Blue. Johnson isn’t nearly the athlete Blue is, and his production has been less-than-stellar. Johnson is definitely on the roster bubble.

2. Mike Mohamed, ILB

At one point this offseason, it looked as though Mohamed could be one of the Texans starting inside linebackers in 2014. Now it appears Mohamed could be on his way out. With Brooks Reed, Akeem Dent and a few others on the roster, Mohamed isn’t needed.

A mediocre-at-best offensive tackle, Newton should be on the roster bubble during training camp. Newton has proven time and time again that he isn’t an NFL-caliber player, and with Tyson Clabo now on the roster, Newton’s days as a Texan are likely numbered.
