WR Stephen Hill Determined To Have Breakout Year With New York Jets
Wide receiver Stephen Hill is having a terrific training camp for yet another summer. Determined for a breakout season, Hill is catching everything in stride, running routes very well and working diligently with Eric Decker to improve his game. Will this finally be the season that Hill takes his latest performance this summer and makes it a weekly kind of thing when it matters most with the New York Jets?
Only time will tell.
Many believe that perhaps Hill is either thinking too much on the field in the heat of the moment or lacking confidence that he can be a premier receiver in the league. Regardless, he’s been looking like a totally different athlete this summer and has the highest amount of determination in his eyes. He’s been said to be very serious and all about football so far in training camp. Perhaps he’s tired of all the criticism he’s received for failing to show up during close games and that he’s only good during the summer.
After a while an athlete in his situation can get fueled up to just silence all of his critics by leaving it all on the field. Hill has the abilities to make it happen and just needs to let loose and do what comes naturally. Every single time he catches a football, he should remember that he’s capable of big things as long as he believes in himself and not what reporters think of him. After all, he’s the one who has the power to change everything in the blink of an eye as long as he performs to his new standards this time around.
Perhaps with Decker in town and all the new receivers the Jets acquired this past offseason, it will motivate him to step up his game. Hill must be aware that the clock is ticking and this could very well be his last season with the team if he doesn’t live up to his potential. Maybe this new-found determination will be the catalyst to move his career into a more successful direction that will keep him with the Jets longer than expected.
